Oh, I'm and so excited! I become to characteristic another artistic teenager today. Recall this teenage fashion designer? Well today I've got Caroline Stasica.

We first met Caroline when she toted her violin to our house to tutor Fen. She'south an accomplished musician and she'south helping Fen stay on track with her practicing and violin-ing.

She also is quite a snappy dresser. Seriously, her outfits are creative and she has a natural flair for manner. She even contributes to some Chicago street fashion blogs.

Her master artistic focus now, withal, is photography, and she likes darkroom photography the best. She used Fen as a model for a photography project last Spring, and her photos were fantastic. In fact, those are the photos you see sprinkled through this mail service.

She took some time out of her busy life to answer some questions I threw at her, and so here nosotros go:

What draws you to photography?

I've ever been drawn to art and I've tried to limited myself through many dissimilar mediums. I tried a trivial chip of everything, but I institute photography to be my favorite.  I gauge I like photography because I imagine photos in my head, and and then I can clearly bring them to life. When I attempt cartoon or painting the images in my caput, they turn out more similar a slice of abstract art, fabricated by a five yr erstwhile.

Do you similar the ease of digital, or are you enjoying darkroom techniques?

I took a grade concluding yr all about flick photography, so it expanded my love and appreciation for information technology. The nighttime room is one of my favorite places to be, and I feel that information technology merely adds a more personal touch to photography. Yet, I am also interested in digital photography. I'm taking a digital class next year and I'm excited to explore a new branch of photography. I want to accept as many, if not all the photography classes my schoolhouse offers.

What was the assignment for the photos you took of Fen?

The assignment where I took photos of Fen was actually a "free" shoot. I could basically do whatever I wanted, only information technology had to have a unifying theme. I had been anticipating  the consignment and was filled with ideas, and when the fourth dimension came, it was hard for me to narrow them down. Finally I came up with the thought to use my crawly violin student (Fen) in a serial that depicted a child'south imaginative and whimsical indicate of view.

Do y'all see fashion every bit creative expression?

Fashion is everything to me. When I'm bored, I go to my cupboard and but try a bunch of clothes on. It makes me actually happy to go dressed in the morning, and when I article of clothing something I love, no matter how "weird" I feel great. The clothes that I wear, are just a representation of what I like. I don't ever article of clothing something that I don't love, or feel uncomfortable in, what's the betoken in that?

Practise yous accept involvement in designing fashion?

It would be pretty rad to design clothes. I'm taking a sewing class this year then I'yard stoked to create my own i-of-a kind wardrobe.

What resources (online or off) do you lot recommend for other teenagers interested in fashion and /or photography?

As far every bit resources go, the earth is your resources! For fashion inspiration, just head out onto the street and look around. This can be hard to practice in suburbia, and so I love to go out to my favorite place…CHICAGO! Street style is just and then awesome because of its diversity. When people article of clothing what makes them happy, and what portrays them every bit a person, they wait crawly! Also fashion blogs are a great source of inspiration (and in that location are a lot of street manner blogs every bit well, I actually submit posts to chicagolooks.blogspot.com)

The library is also a dandy place to get for fashion or photography inspiration. It's filled with books on learning camera basics, photography tips, way photography, history of fashion books, etc. Nowadays its very easy to get inspired considering of how connected we are to everything today.
